Michael & Camilla met as students in Manchester. They have practiced yoga for 20 years.
Camilla is a Junior level 3 Iyengar yoga teacher. Her steps on the yoga road started in the early 90's. Camilla encountered her first yoga class as part of her BA (Hons) in Drama & History. It sowed a tiny seed (she was a relunctant student at first!) that just grew and continues to grow.
Camilla has a PGCE in post 16 education and has taught drama and movement in colleges in London and Cambridge.
Her teaching style is dynamic and playful. Her aim is to take you on a inward journey to challenge perceptions in the body and mind, to become fully connected and present. Yoga as transformation. What are we aware of while we are in the process of doing our asana practice? What do we learn about ourselves?
Michael is a Junior level 3 Iyengar yoga teacher. He was first introduced to yoga by his Mum. It was not until his early twenties Michael began to practice in earnest. Whilst living and studying in Japan Michael became interested in Oriental Medicine and his passions for both subjects have taken him on a journey of self discovery.
Michael has a BA(Hons) in Sociology&Politics and a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture & Moxibustion. He has taught acupuncture at the University of Westminster. His interest in anatomy informs his teaching.
Michael's teaching is clear, informative and often lubricated with humour.
In addition to teaching Iyengar yoga he practices Japanese style acupuncture and tuina massage.
He is very grateful to all the teachers and teachings he has encountered upon his journey many from people who know nothing of a yoga mat!
